The Amphibian Portraits are completed through a mixture of traditional and digital rendering which is how the gritty, graphic textures are produced. The process is very exciting as I don’t really know exactly how they will turn out until the later stages of the illustrations. I’m fascinated by the characters that evolve as the images are completed and how each animal develops their own personalities. I’m also surprised that no single image has stood out in popularity as everyone has a different ‘favourite’.
